Staff Research Associate
Department of Pediatrics
Hi, my name is Spencer, and I’m originally from Massachusetts. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience and Behavior from Columbia University, and while I was there, I was a research assistant in the Biomaterials and Interface Tissue Engineering Laboratory, which focused on using biomaterials and stem cells to repair damage to the osteochondral interface. I was also involved in social epidemiology research with Abigail Greenleaf at ICAP, where we analyzed behaviors surrounding HIV testing among patients at rural health clinics in Lesotho. Now, as a Staff Research Associate in the Crouch Lab, I am interested in developing neurovascular organoids from primary tissue samples as well as investigating the effects of extracellular matrix proteins on cell dynamics during angiogenesis. Outside of the lab, you will usually find me out on the tennis court, reading a book in Golden Gate Park, or playing the piano.
